Festival and Travel Planner 2025

Location will be in the Ethno museum where the workshops were held in the week between both Live2Mambo weekends. I remember you visited both weekends, so maybe you also went to those workshops in between? If so, how was the floor there? It's a very new building, was the atmosphere there good?

I left Budapest during the week to relax elsewhere. Unfortunately I don’t know anything about the location.

Not affiliated with the event in any capacity, but I am friendly with the organizers, and it is in my backyard - Philly is having a Salsa congress last weekend of September! I hear there used to be a Philly congress pre-pandemic run by a different crew, but that was before I started dancing. Glad to see my city represented in the congress circuit, and hope the event is a success! Unfortunately I'll probably be out of the country that weekend, but hope some of you guys in the northeast USA (and elsewhere) can attend! www.instagram.com/phillysalsabachatacongress

Interesting, last year friday night was too crowded to really dance (other nights were ok).

They had this fashionista motto this year, which was one of the things that kept me away this year. The other reasons were not enough afternoon socials and expensive accomodation.

I liked the Palmeraie location and am surprised you call it a little run down. The very small bachata (?) room looked and smelled seedy indeed, but I never entered it nor did I care.
I don't find accomodation in Paris that expensive, especially considering the effective subway system meaning you don't have to find an hotel close to the venue (of course that's less convenient if you stay at party very late). Of course it's more expensive than Budapest or anywhere else in Eastern Europa but less expensive than for example Barcelona

Paris is less expensive than Barcelona??? I have a hard time believing that. Maybe during specific holidays.

Indeed, Budapest summer mambo event is now announced 24-27 july. Frankie Martinez is announced, some instructor more can be chosen by vote - interesting, although I'd go for the socials. I am tempted, if only the Budapest followers would be there it would be fun already, and flights are cheap - just my winter hotel for Live2mambo demands exactly the double price in summer . Summer is full with events, no worries about lack of salsa.
I think the same weekend as the London Marathon

Anyone have an event recommendation for September?

I'm between the following events:
- Prague Marathon
- Paris Marathon
- Salsificado
- New Brussels Mambo Weekend
- CoBeatParty Salsa Rave

I haven't attended any of these events but can probably only go to 1 in September. CoBeatParty Salsa Rave is likely off the list for logistical reasons. Also open to other's not listed.

I will try to go to CoBeat party, I have a pass for Prague, but I think they're all good, though different.

You haven't posted about your music, dancing preferences. What events you liked in past and what you didn't like and why.

I like the dancehouse events and salsa revolution. Big fan of day socials. I prefer to dance on2. Not a big fan of Cuban and Timba. I like a mix of music but usually lean towards mambo, dura, and romantica.

Get ready that vibe will be different in smaller events. Try it out, I like that more, some people lack crowds and glam.

Salsaficado 2024 was disappointingly small according to friends. Somewhere around 100 people.
Timisoara has several festivals but is hard to reach from central europe, too far for train/flixbus and direct flights only on special days not fitting with the festival weekend. Not surprised it wasn't crowded.
