lol...I hadn't even noticed the Australian Rules Football season had started, even though the nation will be transfixed on the oval ball until the end of September, and that's all we'll hear about in the 'sports' section of the media until then. I'm too excited about having to wait only just over a week until Opening Day!

I guess you went to the WBC final in San Francisco, Offbeat? ;)

One of my colleagues, (who used to be very enthusiastic about salsa until he became wrapped around the little finger of a girl who wasn't, and that was the end of it :( ) is very much into American basketball but also has no one to talk to about it. I do feel for him. Surprisingly, there are now four of us on staff who follow baseball, including a new teacher who has the same religious affiliation with it that I do. I also have my wonderful school team captain who keeps me updated on the scores and the trades. It amazes me that none of the other students ever complain that he's allowed to use his mobile phone in my class and no one else is. It's an completely accepted rule!
