Black long loose pants are not good for education. They make it hard or impossible to see certain movements. Even worse in recorded form.
Teachers please, please think about it! Not everything that looks good is appropriate for all occasions.![]()
Where did you see instructors wear black long loose pants?
I'm glad you posted this thread Smejmoon. I frequently dance in black and never gave it a second thought. Black is the easiest colour to match with my more colourful clothes so I often salsa in black skirts, black pantyhose, black boots. Should I be wearing brighter colours more so my lower body movement is more pronounced?
If it is long and lose then it doesnt matter if you wear florescent green, or pitch black. it's never a good idea
Speaking of florescent colours like neon greens, pinks, yellows and blue, I once went to a salsa club with a rave theme. The music and the dances were salsa dances but the walls of the club were black and people wore florescent glow stickers and glow tubes on them. For the people who wore the florescent glow tubes on their legs, their hip and legs movements were really really well highlighted, no pun intended!
You can wear black, as long as the skirt/dress is short. Or it's tights/pantyhose.
Now that's interesting. Would love to attend something like that, since I was a rave head until not too long ago
I'd love to see someone develop a partner dance to 'dance' music. Something cool that could be done to house, dnb or trance. Maybe something like a combination of hustle, West Coast Swing and the Melbourne Shuffle.![]()
You can, but it looks really boring. My wardrobe was at least half black before I started salsa. After a while I realized black just fades completely into the background in a dark club. I think bright colors look much better on the dance floor.
