Birthday List

Thank you, Chrisk, you sweetheart! Despite how busy I am right now, it was a lovely birthday. One of my students ran into the staffroom, placed a card and an expensive box of chocolates on my desk and raced out again. Lucky - I was on the verge of tears when I read the card:

"Happy Birthday Miss! You're the most awesome teacher and grammar nazi! Hope you have a great day. Thank god you were born."

I think that topped all of my salsa compliments :D

Actually, that student is also a grammar nazi - she comes running up to me to report mistakes she's found on other teachers' exam papers! (I tried convincing her they're simply typos...:) )

Years ago on a different discussion forum there was a poster who was ultimate grammar nazi. He would correct mistakes in everyone's posts! Along with explanation of arcane grammar rules.
 
I understand three of our members are celebrating a birthday today - happy birthday desconocida, toan-hoang and tresto! :)
