The New York promoters have all organized so that each will have a party every night for the week before the congress. I'm thinking most of these will be structured the same way with ticket packages. With the crowds that were there last year, I'm glad they are limiting the amount of people who are going to go to these events and making the events larger.

I'll support Joel's event because he usually has good parties. There are a good amount of promoters and party throwers in NYC so I'll be anxious to see what is planned for the summer. I'm much more excited about the free outdoor events at places like Lincoln Center and other local events than anything tied to the congress. Should be a great summer of salsa :)

ugggh, over-rated event but I'll check it out.

is it up on mambonyc? How did you hear about it?

I've never been a big fan of the seaport, but maybe it will be better this year. I'll try to remember to pm you the day b4 if i hear about something good that's not on waygee's calendar.

ahh yes LVG socials. i've always wanted to go to the socials, but now i really wanna go to the 1 yr party! the artists look pretty good, and V & G from Mexico...:) i wanna dance with Gaby! i'll have to think about this one. I'm thinking though, if i get the chance to go up for salsa in NYC during the late summer, should i go for the social, or for the congress? hmm. Does anyone know if there are night passes for the NYSC?

Joel responded almost immediately:
"If you buy the VIP ticket for the congress , Choko ( NY Congress Promoter ) will be at the door and he will checking your registration at the door. that is a separate thing from our tickets, we deal with him.
Once you have your VIP you are in , dont worry , see you soon."

Woohoo!
(Yes, I did buy the VIP pass. What a good deal!)

Yes. That's what I bought back in February. I guess that's different than a "Full Pass", and I'm not sure what's being sold now.

Choco usually has night passes for the performances and social dancing at the NYSC. Some other congresses allow you to purchase an even cheaper night pass just for the social dancing.

are u saying that i can buy the night passes at the event itself, or do i have to buy them online? i didn't see night passes being sold on the website. Also, are u saying that the NYSC night passes are pricy?

They usually sell night passes at the event. As it gets closer, they will probably offer them on the web, if they are not already there now, for a very small discount if you purchase for all nights together. Each individual nightly pass will probably run from $30 to $45, depending on the night.

Thanks for the info AguaDulce! Hopefully I can make the congress. If not, I'll go for the 10th annual congress. I'll also see if I can do the 1 year LVG social. Thanks again!!!
