Artist Corner - Index Post

This sticky thread was created for those Salsa Forums People who actually want to know more about certain artists.

While you can post questions here, if you want to write about the artists, then please create a new thead of it's own and it will be added to the index post.

There are people here in SF that can contribute more with lots of facts about certain artists.

I will be posting about certain artists as they show up in other posts too and then link the threads here.
 
This is a sticky thread but we only have four artists. Is there anyone willing to help expand the list? If you can, I can take your list and edit the first post.
 
I'm adding some Cuban composers to my site/youtube, so I can link here when I'm done if that's of interest. Some of the names will be:

Alejandro Garcia Caturla
Amadeo Roldan
Antonio María Romeu
Bienvenido Julian Gutierrez
and more.

It helps to know where things came from, and many probably don't really know much about them even in Cuba.
