Anna at Berlin Salsa Congress

Try to remeber which night you recorded this video ! The venue should be The Palais.
I was on decks in this festival, so I can find the Dj you played this song...! ;-)

Its not a Palais. Look at the floor...
Look at the Video-Info :"This was the last Song of the evening (Saturday) at about 6:00 in the morning"

Its Saturday and it was exactly 5:35 in the Morning it was the last Song of that evening , I know it because i recorded that clip, not sure what you mean with palais but this was on the big Hall where the Shows were, heres another bit :

at the start you can hear the dj saying that it'll be the last Song

.

Palais was one of the parties venue. The other venue was the Kesselhause (the place that shows were). The video should be recorded at the end of The Battle of DJs. ...... 99,99% DJ Willie from Paris spined this song....

Ahhhhh guachi. I knew I had this one and could not figure it out. That is a real sleeper album that really swings. I love "buscando el son" from that album as well. That one of the first salsa LPs I bought a number of years back.

Hi,

The song is 'La Gente' by Raffi Diaz from his selftitled album on Coco records. Great choice!

and they sound totaly different:(

Looks like either Amazon got the titles wrong or guachi mixed the titles (Amazon has it listed under "Dos Corazones") :

http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_ss?__...eld-keywords=raffy+diaz+dos+corazones&x=0&y=0

anyway its the right song (its also on Itunes^^).

Thanks a lot DJGuachiguaro !!!

Hi Nik!

Yes, absolutely an excellent example of a sleeper record that deserves much more attention than the low price it typically has.

Actually, I think too much attention is generally given to the 'high priced super-rare' albums. Often the high price is a result of the album containing boogaloos or latin-funk or soul/jazz that general djs are into.
Also, sometimes an average sounding record goes for very high money just because it is a very scarce item. It doesn't necessarily mean that it is of particular interest to the salsa/mambo dancing audience at all...

There are lots of great undiscovered or underrated salsa records that are cheap but will rock our boat for sure!

I'm not sure if it is the same Raffi/Raffy Diaz as in the TH records album, it could well be though! It may also be the same Raffi Diaz as in Raffi Diaz y Su Combo / Los Bravos Echen Pa' Ca (on the Jenny records label)?
