A Salsa dancer's shelf life...

In the case of Cuba it's giant movement, in the case of Flamenco shows it's histerical zapateo as if they were dancing on killer ants, in Tango it's acrobatic turns that would instantly kill any couple in front and behind the them. :p
I've seen many dance shows in many countries, in some they will stay in my memory forever - like Morocco and South Africa. But they NEVER are really close to how those dances are usually dance. It's always exaggeration and showoff.

That's why they are "shows" :) In no dance genre does the performance represents how people really dance as you correctly pointed out.
