Who here is going to be at the congress party tomorrow night? I am still not 100% sure if I am going there or to the other event in town since the congress is a little pricey...

It's really too bad that promotors have split the dance scene during the congress. It doesn't give a good perspective to visitors from out of town!

Nice to meet you Mayan!! :)

I'm not sure if I agree with that or not, but I'm not going to argue it here. :?

Gordon was there tonight, dancing with Magna, while a crowd of us watched. 8)

(also bailarina got to dance with Jimmy Anton, and boy, was she beaming afterwards! :D )

Are you sure that wasn't after dancing with me? 8)

So there were 2 big parties on Saturday? If so, is the non-Congress party a regular event? What gives?

Apparently there's some politics going on.

Yes the other event was a regular event, probably the biggest social in Atlanta.

Hey...just FYI Flava is going to be in Feb still. It's the weekend around the 23rd I think...I'm not looking at a calendar. 8) I know that it's listed up on iMambo already...just a brief blurb that has the date and I think the hotel info.

PARTY IT UP BABY!!!!!!!!

Cool, have they made a website yet, Kamari?

Not yet...they were hammering out more of the details just yesterday after the main festivities....more to come REALLY SOON! Probably you'll start seeing stuff even by the end of this week is my guess. ;)

Good to see you on sat.....despite my state of mind I DO remember LMAO!!! Of course, we didn't dance :?

Ok, cool! Do us a favor and post it here when it's up. (Plus free advertising for Gordon, et al. )

Well, save me one for next time. But no worries - the focus at Congress is usually aimed at dancing with the out-of-towners anyway!

Glad to hear it! I was just telling my friend the other day that i was concerned because I remember getting emails about registration around this time year and I hadn't hear anything yet. Last year I was so overwhelmed by the quality of dancers that i didn't dance much and I felt like a horrible dancer after...based on my good experience at the congress though I think this year will be much better. :D

I find these events to be a showcase for salsa superstars n wannabees. That being said, its a good arena to guage where your dancing is in reference to the big shots.

hotlanta

I had a really good time! :)

Hard to know where everybody was from that I danced with, but absolutely danced w/plenty of people from Atlanta, South Carolina, etc.

Great to see some of the really "top" peformers during the social dancing.

so thank you hotlanta salsa scene!

Innnnnnteresting! What type of event are you classifying F.I. as? Do you typically put non congress events in that category? Or do you maybe mean events put on by certain groups?

F.I is really a congress, even if they don't call it that, they just call it a huge party. There are workshops during the days though and performances and parties and night.
