How do you feel about Bachata?

It comes BACHATA DANCE: SEXUALITY, AUTHENTICITY, AND COMMUNITY A Thesis by NIA QIU WILSON Texas A&M University I admit its very hard to find the history of bachata as a danceform compared to bachata as a musical genre. Most historians have focused the music more than the dance.

What is something you wish Latin DJS would do more?

That's fair. My gripe is when they don't take requests when there are like 2 people dancing. This happens in the small town I live in. Quite a bit. Even in a room of 10 people all of whom are clearly tired, they still have to play 10 min obscure salsa songs. Actually one particular DJ I can...

What is something you wish Latin DJS would do more?

Yeah this is very annoying. Most of the times, they use the cowbell to accentuate ****. It completely ruins the song even if they're on beat. Now have a loud ass CLONK going off every second beat over Fragilidad.

How do you feel about Bachata?

so most historical sources talk about bachata being danced in the box step to slow music. while dominican bachata is high footwork syncopation. They also talk about the close hold and sensuality. Something that dominican bachata isn't quite doing mostl. From what i gather, this is the closest...

How do you feel about Bachata?

    > Not everyone, especially not in Spain, the hotbed of bachata sensual. Many say if you turn off the music and you can't see anymore that it is bachata then it ain't. There is no way that person was serious. If you dance without music, there is no musicality. It's just people walking around and...

How do you feel about Bachata?

New Delhi. When I visited before COVID, most socials were kizomba socials with some bachata thrown in. Even salsa nights were kizoomba. They just used salsa because of marketing value. There was one main anchor event that was salsa but everyone else wanted to do kizomba and bachata...

How do you feel about Bachata?

So I started researching this. It seems the "real" bachata is very different from what is Dominican bachata today Like seriously I can't find any footage of bachata from before 2000s. It also looks like bachata was mostly considered shameful in Dominican Republic until the 2000s. It was...

What is something you wish Latin DJS would do more?

My personal wishlists: * Take requests * Play more recent music * Not play lightning speed dura at 2 AM. I am generally biased towards slow and sensual music with lot of breaks. Also mention which city you're from.

    Is this song AI generated?

Yes, it is AI generated 98.5%. The music quality is too good. It sounds like a studio recording (not electronic) but the images are AI generated. If this was an actual studio recording, there'd probably be a video in one of the songs. Also the "artist" looks different in each photo. The voice...

Artificial intelligence is generating salsa songs

I for one love it. I can now make songs on my own and use them freely. Music has been gated by people for too long. There are bad borings songs by mainstream artists too. Ai is no different. If you're a good musician, you can make good music with AI because you have good taste.

How do you feel about Bachata?

This really is a trap. The common argument against bachata esp sensual is about cultural appropriation. And that's valid. However it wasn't sensual bachata that led this. Urban bachata which is now called bachata for most purposes took Dominican patterns, and made a whole new dance forms. Yet...

What makes a bad Salsa band?

Maybe a bit off topic but I am not a fan of when someone starts playing the cowbell to a song. Like the dj is playing a song and someone starts hammering a cowbell. It's generally louder than the song, lot of times offbeat and kills the music which might not be composed to have a cowbell.
