Imposing a 250 limit seems very small for such a popular event.

Maybe it is a diversification strategy of sorts, where he makes the two events very distinct, so each finds its crowd? It may also take a bit of the guesswork which to attend out...

I spoke with the organizer a couple months ago regarding the change and he said that despite the popularity of the first weekend, he sells more tickets to the second weekend. From my understanding, he wants the weekends to have different goals and he likes smaller events. Based on how he was talking about the change I’m inferring that he believes workshop learning is better in a smaller setting and with shorter night parties.
