La Fantastica - Las Nenas

I'm not 100% sure about this one, so don't take it as gospel until someone else confirms/corrects me but I think it is called 'Las Nenas' and maybe by Orquesta 2000???? :? Anyone else? :D

Slawek, i think this might help you ;)

Yes, Jambo. That's exactly for I'm looking for. In fact I have whole collection of 50 CD of but last 10 of them are without the names :)

Does anyone know where I can buy that collection from? I've tried googling but with no luck :( I'm looking for the actual cds rather than downloads (don't have a PPL license yet :D).

i have also this problem that few of my 50 CD of "La Encyclopedia De La Salsa" collection are without names (like this one..) but i have all the names in the cover of the cd's.

Hi Jambo,

Yeh, It is kinda cute. Just like me. Can I say that no animal was harmed during the taking of that photograph.

I think you'll struggle to find the Enciclopedia collection through any established/recognised retailer or outlet. I might be wrong but I think this collection only exists digitally and was probably put together by someone like a DJ for promotional use in the same way Henry Knowles did with his collection.

There are other collections like the Gladiadores de Salsa, which you can get from Descarga.com or Prodland.de but to be honest it's not as good as the Enciclopedia collection.

Jimmy

Thanks for the info Jimmy, you've saved me a lot of time searching any further - I'd convinced myself someone must be selling the cds out there somewhere

[*secretly wishes a DJ would someday play 'Jamaica Farewell' off Vol 46 for a warm up track......'cos it makes me grin from ear to ear :D*

Correction on the artist of this song....Las Nenas is by La Fantastica on the 2001 (and no, it wasn't released in 2001....) album, 2001 being the name of the album.....unfortunately it's one of those Vinyl-only albums.

It's the same band as the one just re-released on Latin Soul Records - Orquesta La Fantastica (From Ear to Ear)....with various personnel changes of course....no Rafael de Jesus on vocals....

I'm guessing the 50+ volumes of the "Enciclopedia de la Salsa" collection is like many other collections out there.....made by people with a ton of records lying around and no access to licensing for reproduction...so, they change the name of the song and/or the artist to make it legit....I have a ton of cd's like these myself - - only to find the actual album for that song a few months later with the actual artist and/or name.

These fudgy cd collections usually come with pictures of sharks jumping out of the water, dogs riding bikes or chicks in bikini.....

I wish I knew how to post a picture....I'd post the actual album cover here....anyone care to educate me

no picture came up....

it's a white album and there's a bunch of dudes sitting around with afros....

how do you post a picture you've scanned?
