If you want to ID a song really-really bad and don't mind spending a buck ($1) for successful identification, there's a good chance that your cell phone company can help...
Many cell phone provider are now offering an automatic song recognition over your phone. All you have to do is call a given number, put your phone next to the speaker with that song on and wait 30 sec. If automated DJ recognizes the song, you'll get a text message with the title and artist, if not - you don't pay a cent. Of course, you will need to have at least 30 sec. long recording of the song you want to ID or be quick enough and catch it at the bar.
In my area both Fido and Rogers offer this service. It's called #DJ. At first I was very skeptical about it, but this service has already identified two Salsa songs for me: Quiero Salsa by Jose Alberto and Anacaona by Cheo Feliciano. So check your providers web site, maybe, there's something like that available for you too...
