Do you guys think this Gloria Estefan's song is a Salsa? I don't, but I am not sure how to classify it either! Someone I know said it's a cha cha... but I have my doubts!

I hadn't heard the song until I read this post. I did a bit of digging (googling, actually :lol:), and found a short audio clip, which sounded more son than salsa.

Then I found this:

NO ME DEJES DE QUERER: "When we went to pick the first single for this album it was really a tossup for us with 'No Me Dejes De Querer,' which is the first single, and 'Por Un Beso.' We all felt that both of those songs were very indicative of what we were trying to do on this record. 'No Me Dejes De Querer' won out because it is such a happy, unique type of tune, even though there is an incredible salsa section which is legit salsa. So according to Gloria Estefan herself, it's a unique type of tune that starts with a son and has a salsa section. :wink:
