Marc Anthony represents a lot of what is occuring in the salsa industry today.
He has an incredible voice and no one can dispute that. However, his music is canned and synthesized... created mostly in a sound studio. So, despite his wonderful voice, in many cirlces his music does not receive the respect that he deserves based on his voice.
He is simply a victim of success in today's music industry. ALL artists want to achieve commercial success; with a lucrative deal with a big record label. However, such a deal limits their creativity. Singers, for example, find themselves in a recording studio with synthesized music instead of being surrounded by real musicians feeding off of each other.
