Enio & Terryl dvd's available anywhere yet?

Hi everyone,

I have a question about the Enio & Terryl dvd's. On the Let's Dance L.A.
website the newspage mentions that their videos are now available on dvd.
Yet they aren't listed in their online store and I can't find them anywhere.
I've e-mailed them about it but no response sofar. Has anyone seen them
somewhere yet?

Btw, the forum is great. I really enjoy reading all the posts

Thanks in advance,

An addicted salsero

Hi Cwazy. Welcome to Salsa Forums. If you go to:
 steps4salsa.com/videoshop/default.php?cPath=1_25&osCsid=d02601f2f8acfa261fdf60f8e8521f05

They have the DVDs available there. :)

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Thank you for the quick reply peachexploration and thanks
for the welcome. You always have great post

I already checked the steps4salsa.com site though and
they only show the Video NTSC/VHS and PAL as options, no dvd's.
Usually they have the dvd's I can't find anywhere else but it seems
the dvd versions of the videos aren't available anywhere yet.

Thanks Cwazy. :) When I looked at the site, I clicked on one of the items, I think it was the 3rd one and it will take you to the next page. When you look in the drop down menu, only DVD is in the list.

:)

Thanks salseralon. I'm definitely enjoying it 8)

The site does have Casino Rueda dvd's indeed. I didn't notice that.
But I just happen to be looking for the L.A. Style Salsa ones which don't
have the dvd option yet. According to the news message on the Let's Dance
L.A. website the dvd's for Rueda and salsa came out at the same time.
I'll try an e-mail to steps4salsa.com and see if the L.A. Style Salsa videos
will be available in dvd version soon as well.

Thanks for taking the time to look into it peachexploration :)

Succeeded!

Thanks all for the warm welcome and the help.

I turns out steps4salsa had the dvd's indeed. They just aren't mentioned
on the site just yet but I've been able to order them through e-mail.

*waits patiently for them to arrive*

Who am I kidding......me patient??

Can anyone preview their 3rd DVD? On their website, "just released" and "previews coming soon" have been up there for two years or so!

Glad you say this dosvueltas, I planned to check frequently the site for preview :-) I know what to expect now...

Do you have the first volume ? (L.A. 1&2)

Level 3 DVD

Hi,

I have the level 3 dvd. Personally I think Enio and Terryl are great teachers
and explain things very well, they even explain how NOT to do things.

That said the dvd isn't very exciting. It's nice if you like rotational style salsa and some moves
come in very handy when the dancefloor is really crowded. Although I really liked a few
moves (the swivel, some moves where the guy moves around the lady
while she spins and picks her up again), a lot of the moves are variations
on eachother. If I really liked 10% of the dvd it was a lot. It's quite an old video.
If you really like Enio and Terryl's style then by all means pick it up,
everything is very well explained both for the women and men, it's just not really for me.

If you have any specific questions just yell. I'll try to keep track of the forums again a bit.
Have been too busy dancing lately :)

Thanks Cwazy !
In fact, I already order it last week so I am just waiting for them...
I don't know Enio and Terryl's style but saw a very small sample clip and like it ! The dvd sound nice to me, I hope I won't be disapointed; But does not sound that good hearing you :-(

I just hope these moves are :
1. Elegant
2. Fluent to music (as they say)
3. Can be dance by a L.A. follower with no "Enio and Terryl" background :-)
4. And not too hard of course....

Can you tell me if it meets those points ?
Thanks for your help !

Nicolas

Pretty much all of the moves are pretty easy to learn. Some might take a
while to lead really well though. Because of the rotational nature things
flow into eachother really well. You'll often find yourself moving around the
lady which makes things look rather smooth and it takes up a lot less space.
As far as elegant goes I don't know. The swivel can be very nice with a lady
who really uses her body, some other moves make even simple dances look
far more interesting because you don't just go back and forth. So it's kind of
unexpected for the lady as well at times.

An L.A. follower should be able to follow it just fine. It seems the guy is doing
most of the moving around the lady. I didn't notice anything that would really
throw off a lady......but then again, I'm not a lady myself so I could be wrong there :)

Fluent to music? Well that's up to you really I guess :)

And don't worry, it's not a bad dvd, just different. The leading/following is
very well explained and there are definitely some nice moves in there.
A few I haven't really seen on any other dvd before (and I have quite a
few) so that's always a bonus. I'm glad I know those few moves now.
I've learnt some very nice things from this dvd so I can't complain.
Which is more than I can say from a few other dvd's. Most of all this is a
personal opinion, you might learn far more from it and love it.

Try some dvd's without chapters and hardly any explanation....even if
there are lots of great moves on them you won't even see them because
you'll be frustrated way before you get to them :)

Just have great fun dancing and trying out new things! :)
The better I get the more fun I start having.....still have sooo much to
learn but that's the beauty of it. You're never done learning....

Thanks Cwazy for those precisions ! Makes me salivate now and can't wait to receive them (they are sent today, I hope from Netherlands).
This is exactly what I was looking for !! Some different move than CBL to add some spice and fun :-) Everything seem to fit or very close to my 4 points !

I will also leave my though after testing some of the moves (if anyone is interested of course :-))

Thanks again Cwazy !

Nicolas

Ok I finally received vol 1 DVD (= tape 1 & 2)...I love it :-) I have about 24 DVDs and this is my favourite one!

Here is my though:

* Very well explained, some explanation I haven't see in any other DVD like tension in arm for follower (very well explained, like a documentary :-) or how a leader can make the women turn faster (I finally could lead with ease some of my moves I could not do fluently before watching this DVD :-) . But I have to say this DVD is not for complete beginner, better to learn basic step and beginner pattern/position from other dvd (Salsacrazy series). It is explained with off voice, which make it very documentary...a joy to watch. (BUT No break down of moves, must watch in slow motion= no problem I think)

* Simple but fun move that flow even with fast music. I don't like too much the dancing style of Enio (I think it is kind of funny), but I already tried some of the move and worked on first try :-) And Follower likes it! I think some may not work...the "scallop" (is it the name?) Does anybody know it work with any follower ?
I found some new simple move not found elsewhere in my DVD collection...nice.

* They dance LA style but not in slot....which I think is more fun and very live (I agree this style might not be for everyone). Watching the demo at end of DVD is very instructive...they have fun with simple move and make you think salsa differently.

I personally think this DVD is a must for beginner. Can't wait for vol 3 !!
