Hey Guys,

I went up to Bar Salsa in London last night to try out a class with the famous Super Mario. Heard alot about the guy and was gutted to here he used to teach in Croydon but had to pull out due to the venue closing.

Anyway, went to the class and it was STUFFED TO THE CEILING!! you could barely move. Obviously, like me, people wanted to be taught by the 'million moves man' but it was SO annoying! There was absolutely no space and when it came to partner work you could barely swing a cat let alone a lady!

Though I'm glad I went for the experience I dont think I'll go again as I think personally, I learn more from a quieter lesson with a lesser renowned teacher.

My thanks to Susana Montero and Super Mario who manage to project so much fun and find away of teaching in such a chaotic environment.

Thanks for the review Martialdog. I very nearly went there for the first time myself last night, but in the end I didn't.

I'm not too keen on packed to the rafters salsa classes, even if the teachers are excellent. It's just too frustrating having people crashing into you.

He does a class on a Thursday at Latin Square on Farringdon Road which is a bit less packed. Been to it a couple of times and found the intermediate class to be to my taste and level. It is crowded, but not a patch on Bar Salsa!

I think the best classes at Bar Salsa are the all day ones on a Saturday which you have to book up for in advance with Alastair Sadler of Streetbeat. There is one aimed at complete beginners (great way to pick up all the basics of salsa at once) and one for improvers once a month. Definately worth a look if you're at that level....
