Hi Salseros,

I am trying to get my site off the ground no easy task and sooooo many challenges.

I am trying to achieve a number of things must most of all I am trying to create the best independent dance directory on the net, let me assure you no easy task.

Now I think that my site is better than the others out there but really could do with some feedback, good and bad!

Why don't you tell me what you think, as being so close to the project you can get a bit blind sighted.

Tell me what you think!!!! http://www.dancefederation.co.uk <--- click

I fixed the link.

Welcome to SF, and I hope you will be taking part in the discussions here soon (please read the forum guidelines). In the meantime, I have moved your post to the more appropriate section...

Yes, it is the correct forum, but as per SF guideline #9:

Members who join and posts for the sole reason to "only advertise" and not participate in other areas of the forums, will have their posts deleted.

...so the issue in this case, and what makes it spam, is not the content per se, but the fact that (at least to date) ythis has been your only SF participation. The ability to post and advertise products, events, and websites is intended to be a benefit to our participating members after all.

Dance Federation

Well its only a website, more than that its independent, completely free of advertising and serves no personal gain to myself.

I think you would be hard pushed to find a site like that in the Salsa World and is based on noble principles. I think the entire dance community could benefit from a site like this, and benefits us all who want to dance.

I am sorry you feel that this is Spam but if you don't feel it is a useful resource in anyway, then you have to do what you feel is right.

You know you could just review it, and have your fun that way, I'm open to criticism, and I think that would be a lot more fun.

As for posts I am sure they will come, I must have made few by now :-)

 This is the problem with society today. You come into someone's 'house' and you do not want to comply with their guidelines ie. remove your shoes at the front door, do not shake your cigarette ash onto their super sparkling white carpet infact, do not even smoke at at all (!), do not rest your condensation wet glass on their rare £1,000,000 mahagony coffee table even though they have been thoughful enough to give you a gold diamond encrosted coaster to put your glass on!

dmoves... Salsa Forums has a certain ethos which the mods and other members work hard to maintain. Instead of 'back chatting' and trying to be funny, be the best guest you could possibly be! You only spoil your original intent. And no, for the few posts you have made, they have only been to support your initial 'spam' thread (three posts as at 4 March 2008 12:30pm GMT, two of which are trying to put a 'case' for your initial post), nothing substantial that would hold up under torrential rain. If you do not like the ethos here at Salsa Forums, of in couraging participation instead of one off "look at my website" threads which is still advertising, free or not... the door is open, you are welcome to leave and just becareful the door does not swing and hit you in the @rse as you are leaving...

Geez! What is wrong with people in today's society that instead of doing as the Roman's do when in Rome, they want to bring their BAD habits to Rome?!!!

rant over... for now...

By the way, I saw your posts over on londonsalsa where you (or someone connected with Dance Federation) were enquiring about the change over in ownership. I did not like your tone, attitude, choice of words over there, and as a long standing participate of Salsa Forums, I certainly will support SD and the mods in discouraging such tones over here.

rant part II over... for now...

What's Wrong With People These Days

Forums are about communicating, expressing an oppinion, and general banter.

I did not come here for an argument, but to discuss my website, nothing more nothing less. It was my first post because it is something close to me.

To have you jump on my mail in this regard is far from welcoming, I stand by what I said about londonsalsa at that time, that is that its out of date and no longer independant, but that my oppinion and one that apparently london salsa agrees with hence the request to get the information updated a "spring clean" although it still say independant at the top.

I like london salsa, it does something that I agree with, its trying to promote salsa in London and thats great, I want london salsa to be better and I think it could be, hence why I offered to look after it. Also at the moment I can't login into it anyways, can you?

Running a site like that is hard work, requires a lot of effort and a team of helpers. Full props to tickly tiger? - owner for that, a one man band, who after finding a job found it increasingly difficult to cover both. Who ever has taken it on is in for a suprise, I know that it took blood sweat and tears to get it where it is, I also knowit will take blood sweat and tears to take it forward.

Knowing that I offered a joint patnership on that project or mine to split the load, made sense to me.
