Hey people!

Hmm... Am kinda considering ordering a couple of Seaon's DVDs... Has anybody checked them out? How good are they? What are they like compared to the competition? Sounds like most people have bought other instructors DVDs instead.

I've also heard that they take a ridiculously long time to mail them out... Just wondering if they're worth the bother...

I have his spins dvd and it is really good. I was taught spins by Edgar mendez and bought Al Espinoza's Spins dvd but I didn't really learn how to spin until I got seaon's dvd. I dont know about that shipping, my dance partner actually gave it to me b/c she was frustrating with my sloppy double turns. I wouldn't say it so much the techniques that he teaches, though they are good, he gives a lot of good exercises and does them for you with his back towards the camera so you can practice along with the dvd. Honestly though, I've seen alot of guys learn to spin and it seems different techniques work better for different people, but seaons worked for me. I went from doing sloppy doubles to being to pull off 3 or 4 nice spins at once within the first month or two of practicing with it.

yes it takes extremely long till you get the dvd's!!!!! I ordered the last 8 dvd's 1st july and they arrived on september the 2nd. for comparison mike bello's dvd come after two and a half weeks! Seaon's videos arrived at the time i am abroad. So when i am back in two weeks time, i can tell you more per pm. Maybe better to let somone you konow buy it in la and send it to you!!!

The spin videos are good.

The 2 introductory videos might be too slow for the average beginner dancer. Repetitions!!!. No need to rewind. Not so much material in it unfortunately. The video 3 i also have deals with turn patterns. I think less than 10 combos but very leadable.
I am excited to know what is in the new dvds.
There is some review on www.salsa-videos.com and salsavideosreview.org

I really don't want to wait 12 weeks to have his videos. Can someone be kind enough to share it via torrent or somehow else?

Hi Marko. :) It actually takes 12 weeks to receive his videos. They must be selling faster than they can burn the DVDs. That seems a little long by anyone's standards. Are they on extreme backorder?

Hi there,
I bought his DVD on Spinning and it took almost two months to get it. I am in the US so it wasn't international shipping. I called him several times and he was always available but that didn't help too much with the shipping delays. Once I got the DVD, I was dissapointed with the quality, the first copy that I got was not good, I couldn't play it past 10 min. it would get stuck and wouldn't play. I called him and explained the issue and he told me he was going to send another copy, another waiting period for me. When I got the second copy it was just marginally better, it would play without getting stuck but in many sections of the DVD there was pixelation and couldn't make up the scene being displayed, so in a few words, the quality of the discs were not good, I didn't bother calling him again. In regards to the content of the DVD I was not impressed. Yes, he is a talented dancer, no doubt about it, but the way that he teaches spinning did not help me since I am a beginner in terms of spinning. He demonstrated the spins and repeated the sequences many times but without providing clues as to what you have to do to make the spins come easily. In other words, I was looking for technique, for him to tell me, this is how you place your body and the reason many people cannot make this spin work is because they forget to move their shoulders in this specific way,you know, that kind of instruction, precise and detailed. His instructions were mostly, " watch me doing it ! " For many people this would work OK but for some others it wouldn't, it didn't for me. So, I wouldn't recommend this DVD to a novice who wants to learn well from the beginning. However, for the intermediate dancer who just wants to kick it up a notch then this DVD might be the solution.
