There's a good chance that I may be going my first Salsa Congress this year. The Atanta Congress will be the end of October this year. See  Annual Salsa Congresses & Events (http://www.salsaforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=7) Anyone else want to join me?

Still debating that out. I'll be at the Miami Congress next month, though. After that, we'll see if I can budget for the Atlanta Congress as well. I have friends there - actually my previous dance partner lives there - So, there is alot of 'push' for me to go, since I have NEVER had a bad dance with her, and she wants me to go.

I will DEFINATELY be there!!! This will be my first ever salsa congress as well. I never get to go to the other ones because I never have the funds to travel.

Hey Peach are you still going to the Atlanta COngress? If you do you should find Jimmy Rumba (formerly Los Rumberos and 2-time mayan winner) and watch him dance, especially with his wife Randi (formerly Salsa Brava). They both live in Atlanta and Jimmy is one of my favorite dancers. He is also pretty much the most humble and encouraging instructor I've ever met. Let me know what you think of the congress.

Also, if you see a short man with a small pony tail named Edgar Mendez (a.k.a. Tun Tun, he'll probably be around Jimmy) he is the guy who I learned from. He was in Rumberos for 7 years, and actually did the choreography for one of their pieces. He can feel the music so well!

No, unfortunately, I won't be going which sucks big time. I was really hoping I could make this one but things haven't gone as planned which is normal for me. Anyone else attending?

First of all, I gotta give you props for resurecting an existing thread. I may go. Right now I'm playing it by ear cause Atlanta, UK, Toronto, San Francisco are all around the same time.

Yeah, it wasn't fun...

(Don't know about the rest of the week for obvious reasons, but...) Thursday night at the Marriott will likely be too crowded. It's already borderline too crowded on a non-Congress week. I can't imagine how it's going to be if we get a bunch of out of towners. (not meaning to imply that it won't be fun with a bunch of out of towners visiting)

was thinking about going to it instead of the Houston Congress since Atlanta is so much more close to me, but I can't seem to view any sites to get any info about it... can anyone give me a direct link?

Apparently the link went dead on 7/11 and is pending renewal. I'll mention it to some of the promoters at the social tomorrow night (unless Maya, Kamari, or Rugkutta see em first).

I believe the dates are 10/18-21.
