OH WOW!!!!!!!

You obviously know that 2lf from Singapore are there? Wendy, June, Isabel and some others.

WOuld be worth just going for that........ha ha!

Looking forward to a full report soon :)

hey smiling

(did you get my pm's btw? no need for replies just checking)

yea i've already met up with the 2lf feet gang, they perform tonight (well "afternoon =6pm), Jean and I are the cheering crowd - i can't wait

I've yet to dance with Alex as he keeps on going to bed!

well i have to say that was SO MUCH FUN!

I definitely need new feet, my toes look like sausages (swollen!) and for me last night (sun) was the best - less people around but still enough stars so it was easier to find people/ask people to dance.

I got brave and asked Shaka Brown and Ismael Otero :) I had so many good dances and I think I need to visit Washington DC soon, i danced with so many great guys from there!

And Jayson Molina is my new favourite teacher in the world - he's coming to Philly next week to do a workshop....He was outsanding at teaching in a large group, i was so impressed....

And he was training these kids groups from Puerto Rico, firstly they all did about 10 performances but oh my god, they were absolutely outstanding, the energy, the perfection, it was amazing, if you can find them on you tube/congress video they are worth having a look at, they got a standing ovation each time!

I guess fun is to be expected at the NY congress. Shaka, Ismael Otero, and Jayson Molina are all awesome.

Have to agree with you all about the NYC Congress. It rocked! I wasn't there Friday night (arrived Sat afternoon) but for me the best night was Sunday. Definitely got some great dances in with people from Philly, Montreal, Houston, Spain and NYC. Talk about Mambo Heaven! :D

Ok, who knows who placed what in the competition?? I saw it but was late for the announcement at the performances.

hmm beto, i think i danced with you?

did you dance wthi a girl in flip flops on sun eve? right at the end?

Yep, I think we danced twice actually. First time was without the flip flops. Thanks for the dance despite the fact that your feet were probably killing you. :D

hey beto

your welcome for the 2 dances - sorry the last one wasn't my best effort, i was in so much pain! But it was all worth it :)

No worries. I had a lot of fun both times. :D

And yes, the pain you might suffer at a congress (soreness in your feet, back, neck, legs, etc) is almost always worth it. Means you had a good time. ;)

yea, pain good, though i'm never doing a lifts and tricks class again - i love Dave Paris's classes but my lats do not ! I was convinced i'd torn a stomach muscle for about 12 hours ....

:)

we must all be crazy...

I was in that workshop too and my lats are still feeling it!

The NYC congress was amazing. The bands were awesome.

Coupla things:

Some people were offended by Al's blackface routine.

Did anyone see Jayson dancing when that crowd of salsa superstars was was around him. He was a follower and when it was time to shine he started vogueing and tore the person he was dancing with apart.

The bands were good. Next year, I'm gonna focus more on Choco's Mambo Cruise  nycmambocruise.com/aboutus.html
