Why do you dance Salsa?

OK, I know we all have our reasons for spending so much time thinking about Salsa, Mambo, dancing clothes, etc. Why do you do it?

I must say that for me, it was the music that drew it to me first. It was a couple years after listening to the music before I actually started to dance. Now, I can't live with out it. :D :banana:

I'd never go to salsa to meet women :P

It seems quite common for guys to take up salsa either to meet women or because their girlfriends wanted to try it. I know a few guys who then got hooked on the dance/music and have stayed in the scene even though the romance side didn't work out.

In my case, I first went to salsa classes as a form of exercise, then got addicted to the dance and music. I have always liked dancing in general though, which was the reason I wanted to go to a dance class for exercise in the first place.

Yeah I love the music, but I can't lie you and myself too, that there in the club I've met good friends. I've met my partner and girlfriend there too... and she is wondreful!
But I really love to dance!

Althought i voted i love the music and love to dance, AND it DID initially start that way i have to admit, i do enjoy the social side and meeting all new friends, and have to confess its wayyyy better than the gym, i think the love of salsa music and dance does win in the end...

Oh, salsa is so much better than the gym. One can only jog on the same treadmill over and over again before finally getting bored.

I did respond that it's a great way to meet people (not talking about getting dates, but really meeting people that share the same love).

Initially I started Salsa to lose weight but now i'm hooked on it and I love the music and that's how I voted.
