Hello everybody,
Firstly I apologise for jumping on your forums so quickly to ask for your help but i really am at my wits end having done every search I can think of to find some Salsa classes for my friend!

Im a beginner myself, have only been dancing just over a month in my area with a fantastic pair of teachers, and i love it,in a short time it really has become such a passion...

One of my closest friends lives in Hinkley (Leicestershire) and he is very keen to learn too, hopefully he will be able to learn somewhere so we can eventually dance together from time to time...
However I'm at a loss of where to point him for classes!

We're looking for "Cross body" salsa, (apologies if thats not the correct terminology) Not Cuban style...
So far i have only found Carlos who teaches at the Sumo bar in leicester but he teaches Cuban style only...the other few i have found are all block-book courses so even if my friend started, we wouldn't get the chance to go there together because i couldnt commit to going every week...

So im really stumped... since dancing myself by word of mouth i have found lots of places in my area, but nothing similar in his...
I would really really*appreciate your help, generally looking in the leicestershire area, hinkley, nuneaton... that kind of way...

Thanks in advance!
Jenny x

EDIT: I've just realised ive put this under the wrong topic *sigh* If someone could move it for me that'd be great...sorry, dont hurt the newbie!

Hi JennyFizz,

I'm afraid I don't know who teaches crossbody in Leicestershire but hopefully someone from England can help... in the meantime, welcome to SF! :)

Aww :)
Thank you for your warm welcomes.

Still no luck finding lessons... only a few places in leicestershire and they all seam to be doing cuban. Nothing wrong with cuban of course, just doesnt match what I do.

Do you think it would be rude if i called one of the places to ask if they could recomend anywhere that does cross-body style? and is that the correct terminology for it?

Thanks again
Jenny

cross-body or slot-style...sure...

Just make friends with a good dancer and you don't have to take lessons. ;-)

And welcome to sf jenny.
