Which workshops to take at NY Salsa Congress?

So, the schedule for the NY Salsa congress is out and I have a full pass.. and I'm wondering which classes to take. I want to mainly take ladies styling / body movement classes (because that's what I'm lacking the most), but are there some classes (that maybe you have taken) that are absolutely not to miss? How many classes should I take a day..and still be able to dance at night without dying??

If I make it, I plan to take Griselle Ponce, Yesenia Peralta, Amanda Estilo, Sekou, all for styling/bodymovement. Jayson Molina and Eddie Torres for shines and partnerwork... oh and Santo Rico spins

Wow...tons on offer at that congress.

I know Shaka's classes are fun, and seems to be the case with Eddie Torres, who needs no intro. Plus he has about six classes anyway...

Sounds like we'll end up taking a whole lot of same classes if you make it... my picks are almost the same as yours. 8)

It really is up to you... I usually end up taking as many workshops as you could possibly squeeze in plus dancing from start to finish, which I can't say I recommend. I'm always a wreck by the last night of a congress. This time I'm planning to take it easy and pace myself (really!) so am going to be strict and leave out most of partnerwork classes.

It depends on your interest and yourself. :) Take as many classes as you want to and as you like, there's not recommendation that works for everybody.

I usually tend to split the workshops that I want to take into two groups. One group being those workshops that I don't want to miss and that I'm definitely taking part in. And the other group are those workshops that would be interesting to take part, but that I don't mind to miss if I need to a break or something else happens.

that's a great strategy chris...an A and a B list which one can attend if your feet are still attached to your body :)

so how many SF er's are gonna be at the congress ? :)

My partner and I will be visiting New York that week and have also signed up for the full pass. We are really looking forward to it as it is the first time we have danced outside of New Zealand. I am still on a buzz from Easter when New Zealand had its first Salsa Congress and can't wait to improve my very basic On2 (NZ is promarily On1)

I'll be there, I usually go to all the social dancing. I don't take lessons, I just learn naturally  . See you all there.
