For those of you who are in Brisbane, or plan to visit our great city. I have recently commenced work on a website for promoting our thriving (but small) salsa scene.

As life would have it, we (my SO & I) have just confirmed that we WILL be in Brisbane 29 Nov (arrive at night) til 2 Dec (depart in the evening).....!!!
(nothing seems to be listed on the site around these dates?!)

Any suggestions? We have both been in the Melb scene for years, but have been rather inactive in recent years. It would be cool to check out some nights 8) . We intend to stay in Fortitude Valley, so any place in the city would be great (might even travel out to worthy places if need be).......

Salsachinita, I just had a look... there is probably only one good event on that weekend the "SOS Party" on Dec 1st.

It's a shame you can't stay the Sunday night also because our biggest social dancing night up here is the Sunday @ Casablanca Hotel... from 7:30 - late. It's a good night out, however the SOS parties are also a great night out, often more popular than the Sundays because we only get one or two a month.

Friday nights there are a few options for places to go, one is in the city and is pretty cool - outdoor venue. They play a lot of colombian style salsa and reggaeton, cumbia, merengue, etc but it's a great place to hang out and have a few dances relaxing after work. Otherwise if you want a good dance Portside is the go - the floor is great and the DJ plays to the crowd very well.
