Can anyone give me a slight idea about how to dance cumbia and in what it differs from salsa??
Also some examples of cumbia songs would be appreciated :D

Right. The music is distinctively different but I don't know enough to break it down exactly HOW it is different. Someone else please?

In terms of the dancing itself, there's only a few moves there to do. Lots of them are momentum based I find. The basic steps of cumbia done by rocking back with alternating leg behind your other leg (if that makes sense to u!) Just try to mirror what your partner with the basic steps... If you dance a cumbia with someone who only dance cumbia and do salsa basic steps, they'd look at you :? I've been given that look when i didn't know the difference

You're welcome :)

Here's a thread that might interest you. It has some song remmendations and basic patterns of cumbia. I've started it just a few days before you asked this question in fact.. a bit of a coincidence..
