I have Seaon's Level 5 Advanced Shines---and while it starts off relatively 'easier' (not easy!) the shines get progressively more syncopated and tough! The one thing I don't like about this dvd is that when he's demonstrating the shine to music, he faces you but doesn't mirror (so if you want to dance along with him you'd be breaking forward on your right foot).

Also, you should know that he takes a very long time to ship DVDs. My friend and I attended a workshop of his and she ordered dvds from him. It took her a few months to get them (I'd say at least 3). You'd do better buying the dvd directly from him rather than online. Lastly, the dvds are DVD-R (as opposed to pressed dvds like you would find in the store). Some DVD-r recordings are very high quality, others are suspect. I haven't had any problems with mine yet (crossing my fingers).

Hope this helps!

P.S. If you do get the cha-cha shines video, let us know how it is. I'd love to have some new cha-cha footwork. Actually, a lot of the stuff I do during the cha-cha comes from Seaon's workshop!

Did you like the shines - where they unique and really stuff you would love to show off ? Does he put all the shines together at the end ?

You know, I haven't done the whole DVD yet! LOL However, the shines I've seen would definitely be impressive if you like pure footwork! I throw the syncopated stuff out once in awhile, and my partners (if they are looking!) tend to dig it. I'll try to watch the dvd and see if he puts things together at the end.

Thanks

Hey natural love !

Thanks for all your info ! Happy Salsa. Yeah .. I love syncopated shines and they defintely get a lot of attention. I will get the Cha-Cha shines DVD and a few of the his other shines DVDs then post a review.

Seaons' DVDs = shipping has improved

I got my DVDs in about 21/2 weeks.

I bought the Level 4 and 5 Footwork DVDs. The shines are broken down well and easy to learn. Pretty flashy stuff - lot of syncopations and a lot of style. The styling however is not broken down and you just have to watch him and his dancers and pick stuff up.

I also got his styling DVDs , and volume is pretty useful - though very very boring -styling DVDs all are. Its only when I use the styling I have fun.

His Spins DVDs is good - but the excercises and techniques are pretty much what my studio teaches (may be not as good) , but I am sure it will benifit someone who doesn't have access to a good teacher. (If you are San Diego check out Syngery Dance Center -they offer a spins class which pretty darn good !

I also got his Cha-Cha DVD and haven't gotten to it.
