But is it really difficult to fit an avatar (or photo) of u under 12 KB ? Hell i downsampled the image to 40x40 with high compression and it sill is 13 KB !

No, it's not you BUT the "standard" is only avatars no greater than greater than 120 x 120 pixels, and the file size no more than 12 KB can be uploaded. Photos, however, can be up to 1024 KB each.

I gotcha. ;) Unfortunately, for the member profile, whether it's a photo, *.gif, etc., the system treats it as an avatar and it can only be no larger that 120 x 120 pixels and no larger 12 KB in file size. :)
