DVD: Quick and Dirty Guide to Salsa - Part 2

Has anybody seen part 2 yet?
If so, is it as good as the first one?

A lot of time has passed since your post, so you probably have already seen disk 2.

I have access to a DVD rental place here in the States, so I rented it. On the good side, it shows a lot of patterns. I like that. I am not going to practice everyone of the more than 20 shown. But I am grateful to be exposed to the seemingly endless variety of patterns in Salsa.

On the other hand, I find the naming of the moves hard to keep straight. Beginner and intermediates in my area have learned patterns without a reference to the spanish names constantly used on the DVD's in the "Quick and Dirty" series.

I was taught patterns with names like "cross body lead" instead of a spanish naming. I don't mind calling it by a proper name, but I don't know it the spanish naming is common in Salsa. It would seem reasonable to me that most patterns have a spanish name. Is this the case?

Gratefully, the format is DVD so that one can hit the rewind a lot. Most patterns are quickly explained and just as quickly demo'ed (about 2 minutes per pattern).

This DVD is definitely for intermediates. As a beginner, I done only two of the patterns on this disk.

I guess sometimes life just gets in the way...

And to be honest , i didnt expect a reply on this topic after all that time...

To the point: I havent gotten it yet... I'm still in doubt whether it's worth to shell out the cash for the transportation/import costs....

On the naming of the moves:
(and i'm referring to Cuban/Casino/Rueda style salsa here)
The spanish names are always (at least in this part of the world) used in classes... and it makes sense: a lot of casino moves are used in rueda where a caller shouts out the name of the move to be executed... without those names no couple would know which figure to execute...
