JazzHands, “From the episode of "Friends" where Joey goes to an audition requiring dance skills (which he definitely doesn't have) and tries to bluff it. If you've seen the episode you'll know the significance of "Jazz Hands". Sometimes when I'm feeling silly I'll pull that same move in a shine.

Terremoto, “The Spanish word for Earthquake. The name earthquake actually has nothing to do with my dancing style (I don't stomp nor am I exceptionally large), but terremoto was given to me by my kickboxing instructor a while back and the people I trained with started calling me that”.

Praecantricis, “ latin for 'of the witch' so witchy or witchlike basically - because I am wiccan”.

Giglet, “Ok, the nickname Giglet derives from the Fillipino word for Gigil. Gigil is a word they use for that "over whelming" feeling you get when you see something cute, and you wanna SQUEEEEZZZE it. No idea what an English equivalent will be. I guess there isn't a word for that? Anyway, I just slightly modified the word to Giglet. Oh and i'm not Fillipina, but my ex was Pinoy, hence my slight knowledge in the language.

yes thank you peachexploration for spearheading this project. It was really nice and so much fun. I been in SF 1-1/2 years . It has been a wonderful ride. my first post was in the Salseros Anonymous asking where to buy videos to learn hip pop. I did not manage to find hip hop videos that time, but I found a wonderful community to nurture my just born appreciation of salsa.

I went from not knowing what is on1,on2 CBL, and falling after a half spin. to become a salsa forums educated dancer. Eventually becoming a forum moderator, a social dancer, an instructor, a performer, joining a salsa dance company, and now getting ready to perform in the Chicago salsa congress in two more weeks.

there is no movement, technique, or attitude that I execute on the dance floor that has not been in one way or another influenced, taught, developed or enhanced by the knowledge that you all have so kindly provided me with.

I am very happy to be part of these communities, the minutes of chasing spammers, fixing posts, and answering questions, are welcome opportunities to keep this forum fulfilling its mission, and provide a place where a dancer can share and grow.

I need to learn much more, but I am in good hands
