Okay, got an exercise for you. ;) Not sure if we'll do this everyday but the purpose of this thread is to allow you to take a listen to a song and try to interpret the dance in your mind. Think about your styling, connection with your partner, beats within the song, how the music changes, whether you would dance it as On1 or On2, zoning in or your lead/follow skills or anything else that make come to mind as you listen. After that, report back and discuss your Salsa Mind Dance discovery. :D
Also, since it's the weekend and hopefully you will be out dancing, try to put your discoveries to work on the dance floor and see what happens. Be sure to let us know about that too. ;) :)
Keep in mind that when you report back that this thread is about individual interpretation of your salsa dance. There are no wrong answers. :D I will post the song today at 6:00pm EST and it will be available until 6:00pm Sunday EST. Happy Dancing! :D

Great idea peach, but I'm guessing that noon EST on a Frdiay isn't the most workable time... already Friday evening over in Europe, only 9:00am in CA, etc.

Right, SD. I had forgotten that of course. Will figure out another time that's best for most and see what we get. :D

Okay, how about this. Since SF was pretty active last weekend, I'll leave the song up until 6:00pm (Which is like, now! ) until say 6:00pm Sunday evening 6:00pm EST. The song is back up. See my second post at the beginning. Once again, Happy dancing.

Sorry that some can't get to it. :( After you paste the link in your address bar in your web browser and you have Windows Media Player installed on your PC, it should play automatically. Hope that helps.
Great start MRD!

That's cool, MRD. :) I wouldn't worry about the order though. One of the ideas is to visualize your dance movement within the song and the spontaneous interpretation that comes out of it. :)

Sure. From a leaders point of view, I'm hoping, as the song is playing, it's helping you think about the dance so to speak. So, if the music is telling you how to dance, you (as the leader) pass it on to the follow (sort of) and somehow through all of that, connect with each other. Just a thought. I'm sure others may see it differently. :)
