Happy Birthdaaaay! I turned 30 just last month (3rd), and 30 is great so far. Totally amazing. The universe loves you when you're 30.

So far it is shaping out to be a good night - I have already talked to a lot of people either on the phone or by e-mail and there should be a lot of people there tonight!!! I can't wait - I just need to get past this next hour and a half of work - and then I'll be home free!!

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes!

So after I got off of work I went to the gym for a while and then I showered and then went out to dinner with my brother. We ended up going to Panda Express because it was the only place that didn't have a long line. All the other nice restaurants I wanted to go to had a wait of like 45 minutes to an hour :( so then after dinner I went out salsa dancing - I dragged my brother along with me - I told him that he had to go because it was my birthday. I have been dancing salsa for five years now and he has only come out dancing with me like 3 or 4 times. So anyways, I introduced him to all of my friends and my lady friends worked hard on getting him out to the dance floor - he danced two songs!!!

So the night went really well I got my first really good birthday dance song. Every other year my birthday dance song sucked :( Either the DJ didn't announce it or he forgot or something - but this time totally rocked!!! I loved my birthday dance! I shared my birthday dance with two other people - one of them was Salsero JR (a member of this forum who posts occasionally) - so there was this huge circle going around the three of us and I was dancing with one lady after another and it was awesome!! And I even danced with one dude - there is one guy that I will follow occasionally for kicks and giggles and I pulled him out of the circle and started following - everyone started cheering - they got a good laugh out of it. I actually enjoy following and since I moved to Portland I haven't done much following. When I was in Seattle I followed on a regular basis.

Also, my former partner that I used to perform with showed up. The two of us had a falling out a while back and that totally sucked because for a while we were really close friends and truly enjoyed eachother's company - but like I said, we had a falling out and quit talking :( and then shortly thereafter she started dating this guy and ever since then she hardly ever goes out salsa dancing - so anyways, she came out to help celebrate my birthday and the two of us connected again - and it was totally cool - no weird feelings - just dancing and having a good time. It was really cool to be that way - dancing with her that night basically felt the way it felt before we had our falling out. So that was a very, very good experience.

And thats about it - not much else to report. My actual birthday isn't until Tuesday, but Friday was really my celebration. On Tuesday its going to be pretty low key, I plan on having dinner with two friends of mine and just take it easy.

I do that too !!!! :)

Glad that your birthday went well :):)

Thanks everyone! I actually had two birthday celebrations. I went out on Friday and told everyone I was celebrating my birthday and had a good night - but Tuesday was the 14th my actual birthday so I decided to take tuesday and wednesday off from work to go out and celebrate. So today (tuesday) I went mountain biking and then I went out with some friends of mine to go karioke singing! It was a blast! So there was no salsa dancing (even though I wished there was - but on a tuesday night in portland its pretty tough).

I was wondering how I missed all this and then saw p's post at the end....seems lot of saleros who are turning 31 this year...including myself. I personally cannot believe that this year it is actually on a Latin night, and it will be after I suffer a drought over Thanksgiving.....I must go out that Friday as well...
