Salsa Classes In Moscow

Hi salseros and salseras,

i have been moving into Moscow/Russia by the end of this month. I have been regularly attending salsa classes and nights in my country. I want to continue learning and improving my salsa... Currently i have started NY Style salsa.

I need some advice on dance classes and schools (especially NY Style) in Moscow. I have checked internet, but sites are usually in Cyrillic alphabet...

I would be grateful for any advice....

Hi,

There are several schools in Moscow, but, as I have heard, NY style is not very popular there - mostly people dance Cuban, aka Casino style.

1. "Salsa NEW YORK Style" tel. in Moscow 517-9887 (I guess, this would be the most suitable for you).
2. "Svoya shkola" tel. in Moscow 510-88-15
3. "Sierra Maestra" tel. 8-901-782-3652, here's also info about clubs in Moscow and St. Petersbourg: sierramaestra.ru/en/clubs.html

Hi Estoniana! You mentioned cuban casino style. Im going to be visiting a friend in Moscow next month and hoping to go out for some Salsa and would love to do a bit of rueda. Could you recommend anywhere? Thanks

Ok, so here's the information on clubs in Moscow. WARNING: my spelling of Russian street and metro station names can be a bit different from what they use.

1. Karma-bar, www.karma-bar.ru, Pushechnaya str. 3, metro station "Kuznetskiy most". Thursdays - free entrance.
Fridays - for ladies free entrance till midnight, after 200 rubles. For men 300 rubles. Saturdays - for ladies entrance 200 rubles, for men 300 rubles.
2. The Tunnel, www.thetunnel.ru, Lubyanskiy proezd 7, metro stations "Lubyanka", "Kitay-Gorod". Salsa on Wednesdays as of 20.00 hrs. Entrance 100 rubles (includes a drink).
3. Samolet, www.samolet-bowling.ru, Presnenskiy val 14/1, metro station "1905 Goda". Salsa on Sundays from 20.00-00.00. Entrance 150 rubles.
4. Papa's, Myasnitskaya str. 22, metro stations "Turgenevskaya", "Chistye Prudy", "Lubyanka". Salsa on Tuesdays from 21.00. Free entrance.
5. Mediterranee, http://mediterranee.narod.ru/ addr. Bolshoy Drovyanoy pereulok 21/12. Metro: "Taganskaya-kolcevaya". You can ask DJ to play salsa on every day of the week.
6. Gippopotam, Mantulinskaya str. 5/1, metro "1905 Goda". Salsa on Thursdays from 21.00, free entrance.
7. Papa Joe's, www.papajoes.ru, Nikoloyamskaya str. 26. Salsa on Sundays from 20.00, free entrance
8. Amazonia , www.amazonia.ru, Strastnoy bulvar 14, metro "Chekhovskaya". Salsa every Wednesday from 20.00, entrance 200 rubles, with flyer - free.
9. Staraya Gavana (Old Havana), www.old-havana.ru/, Tallalikhina str. 28, metro "Proletarskaya". Salsa on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays from 21.00, entrance 150 rubles.
