..well Salser@s of the Thames doesn't have quite the same ring to it but ho hum never mind....
Hop aboard the Thames Salsa Cruise Sunday 1st October.
For a taster of what the cruise is like go to
www.meltdownmedia.co.uk
and follow the download link. You can even put the film on your ipod or mobile. (Thanks to the incomparable Lloyd for his production talents!)
What is the cruise like?
When people ask about the cruise I always say it is like a party in someone's house. There are a couple of rooms in addition to the dancing. The atmosphere is also like a house party, with the emphasis on fun which makes it ideal for non dancers as well as dancers.
What's onboard the boat.
Upper dancing deck - non smoking
Lower lounge deck - comfy seats music low enough to chat, now with a snack bar.
Bar deck - The bar boasts pub prices, crisps and peanuts (No food or drink may be brought onto the boat)
Quiet deck - This is a non smoking area where you can chat or just watch the sights roll by.
Open deck - At the very front you can get some fresh (very fresh) air and do your Kate Winslett impression (icebergs NOT included)
Where does the boat go?
The boat travels down stream to the Thames Barrier and often beyond (tides permitting) It then travels back up almost as far as Hammersmith bridge. Exact route is dictated by the tide.
Along the way you will see sights such as the The London Eye, Millennium Dome, Globe Theatre, Tower Bridge, Houses of Parliament and much more. At night everything is illuminated.
Music is be provided by D.J. Felicidad (Salsa University)+ guests.
How much and When?
Sunday 10th september 2006.
The cruise leaves from Westminster Pier (opposite Westminster tube - The pier is signed from inside the station) at 6.45pm for our usual four hours of salsa party (returns 11.00pm)
If you're driving PLEASE leave plenty of time to park.
