New timba group in Stockholm

Son Montuno
I don't know why we have so much timba here in Stockholm but I'm lovin' it!

The newest timba group in Stockholm is so new it doesn't even have a name but it does have two original singles. Under the direction of 21-year old pianist Jonas Pomo and with the lovely Cecilia Ferrer on lead vocals, they are bringing timba fans a soulful timba. Jonas does the arrangements and he and Cecilia have worked on the lyrics together.

they have recorded 2 singles, one of which you can listen to on Soundcloud.

I uploaded a short interview with Jonas to Timba.com

I have to laugh when he says things like "when I was young" since he's only 21 :)

Thanks! I really enjoyed "No tiene caso". I was particularly impressed by the level of restraint evident in the arrangement; it had an uncluttered, straight-forward groove throughout that really allowed the vocals to shine. The piano and percussion were tight, and the call and response between the trumpets and trombones was awesome.

I'm also interested in seeing how Astor Piazzolla's music influences this band's developing repertoire.

Well, as you read, he specifically said he wants to avoid too many breaks etc so I think this may have a wider appeal to people who find timba to be too "busy".
