I don't think I even knew it was the name of a distinct rhythm until recently. Has it become slightly more popular thanks to the Fania reissues and possibly the one jala jala track on Back to da Barrio? Or has it been right there in sight all the time and I've simply missed it? El Gran Combo played a jala jala song last night. Is that typical, or is that maybe more evidence of a mini-revival of jala jala?
