Ok, first af all I'll start with Hannover - as promised!
Hannover is a medium-sized town with roundabout half a million inhabitants. Compared with all the US-Cities its salsa scene is certainly not that big. But its pretty cool for Germany, I think!
I'll start with the clubs that I like and would recommend:
On tuedays there's "Phoenix Bar" (Goseriede 4, directly in the city, tram/subway station "Steintior") - a nice club where you can find a lot of Hannover's salseros, but also people who are new to salsa (as the club is quite popular) - accordingly they also play a little of reggaeton and latin pop and at the end even r'&'b (but predomonantly salsa, merengue and bachata).
Admission free untill 23:00, afterwards 3,- €. There's a free beginner class from 22:00-23:00 and if you manage to come next week - an openair party !!!
On thursdays there's "Naoums" (Königstraße 12) - still kind of insider tip, but so much the better!

Normally it's a pretty hip r'&'b club, but on thursdays they open for salseros. There's no entry fee, they have moderate prices at the bar and a wooden floor. And the most important thing - a great dj! :lol: Since you'll mostly find salseros there he normally plays tons of great salsa - older as well as newer songs, great romantica and salsa dura and mambo - and a little bachata and even less merengue. I think, it's one of the places to be!
And last but not least - for me the most important one - GIG/Little Havana at Lindener Marktplatz on saturdays! (4 minutes with the tram from the main station) It's a quite big location with two dance floors - the smaller one for salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, boogaloo, reggaeton, latin pop and everything else that sounds like a latino-party. And the big dancefloor where you can here almost solely salsa in all its kinds - here and there a cha cha cha and later in the night (or should I say earlier in the morning) sometimes a bachata.
There're lots of chairs and tables to sit everywhere and there's a bar downstairs, just for the case that you're fed up ith salsa music. :roll:
They always have at least 3 dj's, so you can allways here some good music - sometimes you like it more and sometimes less - but overall it's very good!
The admission is free untill 22:00, afterdwards you pay 5,- €. The free beginner class starts at 21:00 (till 22:00)
So, these are the clubs that I like and I'd recommend to everybody who's looking for some NY-/LA style (although I have to admitt that we don't really have a lot of people dancing on2 - to tell the truth there's just one couple who always dance on2, me and my partner vary - some songs on1 and some on2, and I think that was it... If you're a leader you'll perhaps find a bunch of ladies who can follow on2 - or are at least willing to, if you're a follower :cry: - you'll have to be a little more flexible

)
There're also some clubs that open on wednesdays and fridays - one is quite new, I cannot tell a lot about it but that it's very stuffy and that the floor isn't that good. The other one is the oldest salsa/or rather latino club in Hannover. They just moved to another location, I heard good as well as not that good things about it - but overall I think it's rather a club for salseros dancing casino or columbian style.
If you're bored in Hannover (which might occur) - please feel welcome to visit our classes (from tuesdays to thursdays), just to see how salsa is tought here

or contact me via pm if you have other questions!
Bye,
Wera
