Hi! Can anybody recommend some good salsa cds that have various artists on it? I picked up salsa hits 2004 and liked it. Wasn't too impressed with salsa hits 2005. Thanks!

I had the same experience - I loved 2004, but wasn't all that excited about 2005. You might want to check out the Old School Hits. There are four of them, and I'm pretty sure they are entitled "Old School Salsa Hits Vol. I-IV".

All righty! Thanks for the suggestions. I'm gonna take a look at these cds and give them a shot. Hopefully, I'll be able to find them locally. Otherwise, I'll round them up online.

When I was vacationing in Orlando I picked up at the Virgin Music Store, in Dowtown Disney, Salsa Dance Class - The Essential Album.

It's a red cover that has a couple dancing in the bottom left hand corner of the jewel case.

It's songs varies in tempo and I think it's worth trying out.

I just got this mondo-mega compilation from Descarga.com called GLADIADORES DE LA SALSA that's pretty good. It's a chunk o' change, though, $229 bucks, but it's a 17 CD set from Colombia, and that's a lot of music. If you want to blow a few bucks and get a ton of music in one shot, I think this is a good choice.

I'm sure we've discussed this before (either here or one the salsa section of dance-forums.com). The new Gringo Guide to Salsa is a good collection overall for dance-oriented salsa. I like the fact that it includes a couple Puerto Rican artists who I think are often overlooked on these compilations: Marvin Santiago and Willie Rosario.
