If you've started to get your head around the basic salsa footwork patterns you might want to try the one day intensive salsa class running at Bar Salsa on Charring Cross Road this Saturday the 25th March 2006. It's branded as a BCB (beginners consolidation and beyond) and is aimed at people who have done a few beginners classes. It is designed to turn you from beginner to a higher level improver in a day. The course is run by Alastair Sadler of the Streetbeat Salsa Company www.streetbeat.co.uk. It begins at 10 in the morning and runs through until about 5.30. Cost is £40 if you say where you saw the course advertised or £75 for a mixed couple (one leader one follower). You need to call and book in advance so the numbers are equal - telephone number is 020 8888 5507. If asked where you saw the ad - just say on a forum online -or mention praecantricis if you don't feel too silly, or Clare if you do!

The course is repeated every few weeks, but I know they have some space this week - often there is a waiting list. So what are you waiting for - you'll even get to meet me as I'm helping out this week.

If you're a complete newbie and haven't done any salsa or just a class or 2, Streetbeat also does a 'learn to salsa in a day' class for complete beginners three weeks a month. You can book this on the same number. The next complete beginners workshop is the 1st April.

If you need any help or have questions feel free to email clare@technominx.net.

I can vouch for Alastair Sadler - he's a good teacher, with a great teaching method for beginners in particular.

His classes are always a lot of fun too!

That's nice of you to say! I agree totally he's definately the best beginner to improver level teacher I've come across. He does really challenging intermediate classes too - but he hardly ever runs them.
