Nice, Terence. Quick question: why is Cuban son for the very serious?

My favourite salsa bar has son classes running, and people I know are always trying to get me into it. I have danced a few of the basic steps. Do you think it really is quite difficult?

Can be for some.. the "style" is sometimes in conflict with the standard usage as in LA and NY ,and the syncopations are not the easiest thing to handle. One needs to have a clear understanding of the music to have it become effective ( but thats true of all music )


Also, the music is not as readily played as the standard fare that most clubs play ..add to this,knowing someone who is used to the style ( if you have your own partner..OK ).
