The recently launched CamdenSalsa venue at the Cuban on Thusdays www.camdensalsa.co.uk is going well. Obviously it's early days, but the teachers really seem to be hitting their stride. Mo Flex in particular has turned out to be a really fun energetic and funky teacher with a real focus on making salsa playful - his class last night was a blast. Live music at the club had the dance floor heaving and with Palenke (brilliant band for dancers) due to play on the 2nd Feb I'd really recommend trying the place out.
Classes are usually £7.00 - but if you come next week you can have 2 weeks classes for £10. Also the classes are almost 2 hours long! So you're really getting your monies worth.
As a PS there is still space for extra teachers at Camden - for one off workshops or short courses. If you have a favourite teacher who might be interested direct them to Alastair at Streetbeat (020 8888 5507) who is promoting the venue. Also from a personal point of view - what sorts of workshops or short courses would you like to see? Examples might be - a Cumbia or Boogaloo workshop, perhaps a dips and drops masterclass, a body styling workshop - throw your ideas my way it'd be really useful.
